Songs for the Savior
Celebrating Christ’s Birth with the Melodies of Faith & Hope
‘My spirit rejoices in God my Savior’ (Luke 1:47)

Westminster’s
2025 Christmas Theme

Westminster’s 2025 Advent theme is ‘Songs for the Savior.’  Advent refers to Jesus Christ’s coming in His birth and how people anticipated Christ’s appearing.  The announcement that God’s long-awaited Messiah would soon appear caused hearers to praise God and express that their deepest yearnings are met in Him.

Like Mary, who proclaimed, ‘my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,’ Westminster will follow the example of those who first heard the Good News of Christ’s arrival.  We will reflect on these ‘Songs for the Savior’ found in Luke 1 and 2 to celebrate the salvation Christ’s coming offers us and to find our life’s satisfaction in Him.

Highlighting Music with Songs of the Savior

We will also emphasize music this Christmas as our spirits ‘rejoice in God our Savior.’  In addition to traditional Christmas hymns, we’ll sing fresh renditions of them, introduce new songs, incorporate additional instruments, and add a Sunday evening Lessons & Carols service.

Each week, we will feature a Christmas hymn by emailing a video devotional based on the hymn and then sing that hymn during the upcoming worship service.  If you wish to receive the video devotionals but do not receive Westminster’s weekly email updates, please contact the church office and request to be added to our mailing list:  office@westminsterpca.com
