Welcome to Westminster!

Important Information Concerning Schedule Changes

due to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Happy Holy Week Westminster!

As we have done for the last few weeks, all in-person activities will not be taking place this week or next week. We will also continue to have someone in the office Monday – Thursday, 9 am – Noon.  The door will be locked, so please ring the bell if you stop by.  Your session continues to meet weekly to discern how to best move forward.

While we aren’t going to be able to celebrate together as we have in the past, we are still excited to still be active as the body of Christ. Here are some things that we have going on this week:

Wednesday Sessions with the Session

On April 8th, we will be having the second installment of “Wednesday Sessions with the Session.”  This week, Pastor Dan will sit down with elders Martin Furman and John Richardson to talk about the events in the life of Christ that took place on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.  We are hoping that this will be a time when we can look together at the last 24 hours in the life of Jesus, before observing those days later this week.  If you would like to prepare for that time, you can look over John 13-19 (just skimming it is fine too).  The live stream will begin at 6:30 pm on the Westminster YouTube Channel You are welcome to send questions in ahead of time concerning the text, or you will be able to ask questions live during the stream in the Comment section.

Children’s Sunday School Video

Jen Ledford and our incredible team of children’s Sunday School teachers have been hard at work putting together a video that they will they will release to the world this Saturday, April 11.  This is a tool that can be used by our church families however they see fit, whether it be for family worship, Sunday school, or any other time during their days.

Easter Sunday Live Stream on April 12 @ 9:30 am

This Sunday, we will continue to go live from Westminster at 9:30 am on the Westminster YouTube Channel Please join us as we celebrate our risen Lord together.  Feel free to get dressed up in your Easter best as we come together for a time of teaching and reflection on what the Lord has done for us.

Financial Update

Be on the lookout for a letter going out this week with an update on where the church is financially, as well as some decisions that have been made concerning the stewardship of our resources.

April 2020 Devotions – The Book of Proverbs

God’s Word encourages us to “redeem the time” by living “not as unwise, but as wise” (Ephesians 5:15-16, Colossians 4:5). Therefore, for April 2020, your Session is encouraging Westminster to turn to God’s Wisdom given in the Book of Proverbs. In your personal and/or family worship we invite you to read a chapter of Proverbs each day throughout the month of April.

PCA Monthly Prayer Guide

Our denomination has also made this resource available as a Month of Prayer for the Church, Nation, and World

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline” (Proverbs 1:5).
