Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler exists to advance the Kingdom of God in our community, nation and world. Our Worldview—Guiding Biblical Principles That Drive This Mission: We believe our calling, as the people of God, is to glorify Him in all we do, both in this life and throughout eternity. We express God’s glory now by loving Him with all of our heart, soul and strength and mind and our neighbor as ourselves. We regard the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, and the only infallible rule of faith and life. We believe the mercy, love and grace of God expressed in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit is the only power by which God’s people live and accomplish any good work. We believe that the Great Commission (evangelizing and discipling the nations by means of the Gospel) and the Cultural Mandate (claiming and redeeming all of life for the glory of God) to be the structure in which the people of God are to carry out our mission.
Kingdom Values That Fuel This Mission: Worship: We believe that all of God’s people are to glorify God by wholeheartedly worshipping him corporately and privately in spirit and truth. Truth: We believe that individuals and society are transformed by the proclamation and application of God’s Word to all of life. Disciple-Making: We believe every believer is called to spiritual maturity and the church is called to equip and challenge Christians to serve God in every area of life by using the diverse gifts and abilities God has given to each one. Relationships: We believe that God created the church to be a nurturing community of believers where authentic Christian relationships are essential to the spiritual growth of each member. Unity: We believe that God calls all believers who embrace the truth of the biblical gospel to worship, fellowship, and labor together in unity while respecting the liberty of conscience of every believer. Evangelism: We believe that all people outside of Christ are lost people and lost people matter to God. Reformed: We are convinced that Reformed theology and Presbyterian Church government are the most faithful expression of the Biblical model.
